Therapy

We provide support from our hearing therapist, Tim Husband, who offers one-to-one counselling to patients suffering from hearing problems. Tim is able to support all aspects of psychological adaptation to a hearing loss as well as providing guidance on improving language comprehension with hearing loss.

Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)

Our trained clinical audiologists support you if you are struggling with tinnitus (ringing or buzzing noises heard in the ear or head). Our Tinnitus Treatment Centre in Wakefield offers immediate practical strategies for day and night time tinnitus problems as well providing specialist counselling support for tinnitus. We explore longer term stress management concerns if required and we provide you with appropriate digitally programmed combination hearing aids with therapeutic tinnitus relief sounds. 

Charges: £200 for the initial assessment, £75 for follow up appointments.

Sound sensitivity (hyperacusis)

Our specialist audiologists advise you if you have a sensitivity to sound including the intensity or noise level. If required, we refer you to our hearing therapy service. This service is there to help you to understand the physiology, psychology and patterns of response to your problematic sounds. We assist you with specialist equipment and new strategies to promote desensitisation to previously troublesome levels of noise.

Charges: £200 for the initial assessment, £75 for follow up appointments.

Dizziness (vertigo)

Our clinical audiologists help you speed up and enhance recovery from an insult to your balance system that may be limiting your mobility or putting you at risk of falls. For certain types of dizziness we resolve the problem using some simple body movement known as particle repositioning manoeuvres.

Charges: £200 for the initial assessment, £75 for follow up appointments.
